Mobility of students in Capadocia November 2022
11/26/22  - 11/27/22

M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University

3 master students of the educational program “7M01522-Physics and Computer Science with the basics of STEM learning” as part of the Mobility program of the Erasmus+ “Integrated Approach to STEM Teacher Training” (#598367-EPPKA2-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) have participated in the STEM training and the STEM & Makers Fest/Expo STEM festival, held at Haci Bektas Veli University ( Nevsehir (Turkey) from November 25 to November 27, 2022. Master students under the leadership of the professor of the Physics Department professor Gaukhar Omashova and the associate professor of the Computer Science Department Lyazzat Zhaidakbaeva presented their projects.

Didar Auyezs presented the project “Practical application of the water hammer phenomenon”, Asel Aikozy “Practical application of the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction”, Nesibeli Jaksylyk “Smart traffic lights aimed at reducing traffic congestion in the public environment”.

According to the results of the festival, Asel Aikozy was awarded with a diploma of the II degree, Didar Auyez was awarded a diploma of the III degree and Nesibeli Zhaksylyk with a diploma of the III degree.

November 26-27, 2022 - undergraduates Agyzam D., Amangeldin A., Dean Adikanova S., senior lecturer Kaidarova M. went to the festival "STEM & Makers Fest / Expo" in Cappadocia (Turkey), prepared by the University (Nevsehir) Hadji Bektash Veli, which was attended by universities in Turkey (STEM & Maker Laboratory of Hadjettepe University, Hadji Bektash Veli University, Cappadocia Technopark and the Ministry of Education), Sweden, Ireland, Finland and Kazakhstan (M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University, S.Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University).

East Kazakhstan University

The festival was held on November 26-27, 2022 at the University Conference Center (Nevsehir). Hadji Bektash Veli. The event presents projects in the field of chemistry, genetics, design, mechatronics, nanotechnology, as well as an insect robot, an Equilibrium Pyramid, Einstein's STEM laboratory, 3D design.

The projects of the S.Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University are a 3D model of an intelligent garbage sorting complex and a device with a parking sensor made using an ultrasonic sensor for a car. Adilet Amangeldin, a magistrate of the Informatics program, showed a parking device for cars made using an ultrasonic sensor. Parking radar is familiar to many drivers. The parking assistance system plays an active role for the person performing this role. Easily detects trash cans, high curbs and any obstacles. The parking sensor warns the driver in advance.

Dauletbek Agyzam, a master's student of the computer science curriculum, has developed a 3D model of an intelligent waste sorting complex/ a 3D model of a waste sorting complex determines the type of waste due to the operation of sensors, as well as a neural network written in the Python programming language. The user brings an object with a color label (plastic, paper, metal and other waste), sensors recognize the color of the material, and the conveyor motors open the appropriate tank for this type of garbage.

The recognized waste is moved from the tanks to a special compartment of the container. Thus, each type of waste gets into its own separate compartment of the container. Printed and assembled in the Robolabs laboratory of the Department of Computer Modeling and Information Technology. The participation of schoolchildren in the creation of models, in the calculations of a simplified model of production development based on the STEM approach allows them to show natural science phenomena, the internal structure of industrial facilities. Thus, STEM education in the training program will make it easier for students to adapt when getting a future profession.

 L. Gumilyov Eurasian National University

On November 25-27, 2022, project coordinator Serik M., project member Balgozhina G.B., 2nd year master student Abdirey L. and 1st year master student Nyyazkhanov M. underwent mobility through the events “STEM project training and STEM & Makers Fest/Expo, November 25-27, 2022".
As part of the Integrated Approach to STEM Teacher Training (STEM) project under the European Erasmus + program, from November 25-27, 2022, in Nevsehir (Turkey), an event called “STEM project training and STEM & Makers Fest/ExpoSTEM & Makers Fest/Expo".
On the first day, November 25, 2022, there was a defense of projects from representatives of partner universities in Finland, Ireland, and Kazakhstan. Evaluation and consultation was given by experts from the partner universities, as well as by the main coordinator, Mr. Jeaneric Lundquist.
From the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, 2 projects were presented, accompanied by a professor of the Department of Computer Science, Ph.D. Serik M., and doctoral student of the Department of Computer Scince Balgozhina G.B.
The first project was presented by the 1st year undergraduate student of the educational program "7M01525-STEM Education" Niyazkhanov Madiyar. Project theme: "Smart Photobioreactor". Scientific consultants are Professor of the Department of Computer Science, Doctor of Pediatric Sciences, Serik Meruert, doctoral student of the Department of Computer Science Nurgalieva Symbat.
The goal of the project is to create an algae photobioreactor that will use artificial intelligence to better process and produce biomass. This prototype is more stable, efficient, manageable, and smaller than other bioreactor prototypes.
The second project was presented by the master student of the educational program "7M01525-STEM Education" Abdirey Laura. Project theme: "Forest fire fighter robot". Scientific consultants are Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics, PhD, Karelkhan Nursaule, doctoral student of the Department of Informatics Nurgalieva Symbat. The goal of the project is to create an algae photobioreactor that will use artificial intelligence to process and produce biomass more efficiently. This prototype is more stable, efficient, controllable and smaller than other bioreactor prototypes.
As a result of this event, the scientific project of Nyyazkhanov Madiar was awarded the Diploma of the 1st degree, and Abdirey Laura, the Diploma of the 2nd degree.
All participants of the event "STEM project training and STEM & Makers Fest/Expo STEM & Makers Fest/Expo" were awarded certificates.
On behalf of the master students, master student Abdirey L expressed her opinions:
November 25-27, 2022 within the framework of the project "STEM project training and STEM & Makers Fest / Expo" to me, student of the master's program of the group "7M01525-STEM education" of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University had the opportunity to present his project at the international level in the city of Nevsehir, Turkey.
For visual perception by visitors, the demonstration of the work of the robot was supplemented by a poster on the layout. The presentation of the projects and visual demonstration attracted a lot of attention and aroused great interest from the participants, children and their parents.
The event “STEM & Makers Fest/Expo Cappadocia”, which was held in collaboration with the University of Nevsehir Hadji Bektash Veli (NEVÜ), the Nevsehir Provincial Department of National Education, the NEVÜ Kapadokya Technopark, the STEM & Maker Laboratory of Hacettepe University, universities from countries such as Kazakhstan, Sweden, Ireland and Finland impressed me with their scale and the involvement of scientists, students, and most importantly children. After all, the future belongs to the younger generation. I am glad that even from a young age, children can learn science visually at such events by touching it with their hands, seeing with their eyes, experimenting and testing with doctors of science in a group at the same table. Among the enthusiasts of science and technology, academicians, students and scientists there were active discussions and proposals for improving the work and the exchange of experience and ideas.
