International STEM Day November 2022
11/8/22
Sarsen Amanzholov East-Kazakhstan State University

On November 08, 2022, on the International STEM Day, the project team held a seminar "STEM education at school: from theory to practice". Partner universities of the project received an invitation and participated in it: L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University. 3 reports on STEAM-designing of schoolchildren and undergraduates.
For example, Using a sound sensor. Author Imasheva I. - undergraduate 7M01513 "STEM - education" (photo 1). The participants were asked to make sounds and see how the sensor reacts, then they were offered to look at the graph of the signal from the sensor with the help of a special program

  1. STEM is a project of using a sound sensor. Author Imasheva I. - student 7M01513 "STEM education". The participants were asked to make sounds and see how the sensor reacts, then they were asked to look at the graph of the signal from the sensor using a special program
  2. A parking sensor device manufactured using an ultrasonic sensor for a car. The author is a graduate student Amangeldin A. showed the design and mechanism of the motion sensor
  3. A model of a pedestrian intersection. Schoolchildren-authors Darkhan D., Sakuanov D. - "Secondary school No. 48" of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, showed on a homemade mini-model the device of a pedestrian crossing, and the principle of its operation with the help of traffic lights. The students used sensors and large light bulbs, so in their project the traffic lights were equal in height with models of other buildings.
  4. Master class of digitizer design. The author, lecturer of the department Kopzhasarov B. explained the principle of operation of the digitizer. Its parts can be printed on a 3D printer, the dimensions of its parts are first made of plasticine, epoxy resin, then it is scanned as a model by a special computer graphics program.
  5. Strategies for STEM-learning robotics in schools. The author is Agyzam D., a master's student of 7M01513 "STEM education".
  6. The "Safe Way" project on STEM-learning technology. Authors Muratkyzy Dilnaz, Ualive Asset, teaching KSU "Secondary school No. 48" G.Ust-Kamenogorsk
  7. STEM teaching students programming Lego Ev3. Author A.A. Dzhakishev, teacher of the Association of children's youth clubs "Zhiger" in Ust-Kamenogorsk
  8. Implementation of STEAM technology in additional education. Author R.A. Tambovtseva, Director of the "Station of young technicians" Ust-Kamenogorsk

The guests watched the exhibition based on the Robolabs laboratory of the department, got acquainted with the best robotics projects of students and teachers, 3D printing developments for conducting three-dimensional modeling research. The guests were able to see at this exhibition what makes 3D printing a popular design. The Robolabs laboratory has thematic constructors on mechanics and electricity.
The STEM Day was held at the STEM Center and demonstrated to visitors how professionally and interestingly it is to work with children in the STEM direction.
