STEM day in Shymkent. April 2022

 On April 29, 2022, a STEM DAY was held in Shymkent on the basis of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan University as part of the Erasmus + project. The seminar was attended by teachers M. Auezov SKU, students, undergraduates, schoolchildren of secondary schools in Shymkent city. In total there were 29 participants.

 

The opening speech was made by Lyazzat Zhaidakbayeva, Head of the Department of Informatics of M. Auezov SKU.
Gaukhar Omashova, Professor of the Department of Physics introduced the participants to innovative practices in teaching physics.

 

Schoolchildren also took part in the seminar, for example, Adilet Zhasuzak, a student of the 8th grade of Sattar Yerubayev school-lyceum No. 24, presented a robot model developed in robotics classes.
Nurdaulet Yermakhan, master student of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University spoke on the topic “Augmented reality in STEM education”, the master student introduced the participants to augmented reality technologies in education. He noted that many schools, colleges and universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan are gradually moving away from traditional teaching methods, giving preference to more advanced methods, e-books, interactive whiteboards, tablets - all this helps to improve the educational process and make it more efficient.

 

Aruzhan Esmakhan, a student of EP-18-7t group of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, presented a portfolio on using the Extrude transformation in the Blender environment.
Akniet Nuridin, a master student of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, in her speech emphasized that robotics is directly related to STEM education, it is an integral STEM discipline that combines design, technical creativity, and programming.

 

Particularly the speech by Nesibelya Zhaksylyk, a master student of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Universityr, who touched on the topic «Ecological robots» was noted, she noted that today the most relevant is the problem of cleaning and recycling human waste, "ECO Robots" will be interesting for schools students, who are found in robotics and programming will help identify their interest in robotics, programming and design.
